July 5th, 2019. It was time to take my 1 ounce American Gold Eagle to the top of another 4K+ summit in the White Mountains.
This time, Mt Carrigain. At 4,700 ft, this 10 mile round trip was going to challenge five hikers with a 3,530 ft total elevation gain!
We we’re ready, we were confident, and we had perfect weather.
But it didn’t go as planned.
